necron HQ pics

a little late as i finished these a while ago, but heres some nice eye candy for ya:

 destroyer lord rawr!
converted with regular destroyer, and parts from the overlord from the barge i have. use that driver with the eye thingy as it fits the exsisting destroyer heads in the background there.

also a res orb.... just because i might use it...

And heres my lovely obyron and nemesor representatives.

the ltd edition lord with light staff and a pariah with the barge lord cape.

very nice duo, and ofc large bases, because theyre special!

next my first cryptek, more of a test than anything. im happy with how he makes a fair representative, and i dont have to use the huge chin finecast figures.
need to make more of these, ive got a spare 3 bodys and staves to use which will be a nice start

then i get to think about lord proxies.... warriors with sycthes or the metal/finecast models?

Stuff done! picturez!

So to kick things off, ive been assembling some necron goodies,

 the barge and the Ark (magnetized!)




and this fella is my version of Obyron

take one part pariah, take the cloak from the barge, and squish together with greenstuff


quite a nice basic model imo.

 

Then i did some more painting, Huzzah! the world eaters are growing, lets lookie at the new members:

 

 And there we go, 6 new and improved Forgeworld fellas on resin bases, very nice, only 14 more to paint, the 4 rhinos need paint too, and i should really spend time assembling those terminators the way i want....

oh and not pictured here, i also have the parts to start working on a Belial for my Dark Angels (hes two parts commander culln, 4 parts Lugft Huron and some deathwing shoulder pads thrown in, and thats before i figure out how to manipulate the 2nd claw i have into a left hand, and start magnetizing the options)

so i got some lovely immortals and an Ark for xmas.... and then i got sammael on his jetbike, then i went and bought a barge and destroyer (to make into a destroyer lord) and now ive just ordered some parts to let me assemble my deathwing (forgeworld shoulder pads and culln+lugft have great parts for Belial!) along with a few ebay purchases here and there.

and my lovely beserkers continue to stare at me from their primer'd eyes....

*sigh* not enough time in the world

in a similar vein ive got 2 metal wraiths, and some wfb stuff i think ill get rid of.  it wont help me with this crippling addiction to the GW franchise but it will help liquidate some assessts as a business person would put it.

finecast aint so bad.....

hello again, long time no post, long time no hobbying really,though i am starting to find time to get back into the beserkers,

anyway i found my pocket bulging with an extra 30 quid, and i thought to myself.... i want one of those


by those, i mean a sammael on jetbike, in finecast. for my huge unfinished collection of dark angels. and voila! the games-store did provide

did the usual open in the gamestore to check for huge errors, and im quite pleased that theres nothing glaring'ly wrong with it.

well the plasma cannon has a bit missing from the top (hidden by the prow)  and there are lots of tiny bubbles in rather irritating places, the question is, should i bother filling and filing them?  i think the answer is no, because a) im lazy and b) sometimes i put on really thick coats of paint anyway, and as im following the same 4 layer wash technique for black (ah'la vanus temple Linky ) all the little holes will most likely fill themselves up.  or at least i hope so.

still for £30 i am a bit disappointed at the quality games workshop is pushing out here. you never have these problems with plastic, so why should they really be pushing this "technology" out the door when im sure i could get better from a box of a million sprues.  sure thats the downside of plastic, but honestly, i dont mind. they are doing wonderful stuff with it.

oh and i also got a ghost ark for xmas, so thats on the list of things you might see sooner than you think (i hope your thinking about 2-3 months ;)  )
